Buccaline is used to boost the body's immune system against bacterial infection during the cold & flu season. While it will not prevent cold or flu, it reduces the risk of complications that often arise when bacterial infections worsen viral infections.

In essence, Buccaline is a short-acting immunization against certain types of bacteria. In patients 7 years of age and up it is administered in a series of seven tablets taken over the course of 3 days; patients under 7 take four tablets over three days. Each tablet contains:

• Pneumococcus (I, II, III)
• Streptococcus agalactiae
• Staphyloccous aureus
• Haemophilus infuenzae

Do not buy Buccaline as a replacement for a flu vaccination; it will have no effect on the flu virus or other viral infection. Buccaline may be taken in addition to a flu vaccine to prevent secondary bacterial infections, however there needs to be a two week gap between any vaccinations and taking Buccaline.

Preventing Infections with Buccaline

Buccaline works by introducing relatively small amounts of bacteria to the body, which primes the immune system to destroy them when they are encountered in larger numbers during cold & flu season.

While Buccaline does not help against viral infections---such as colds or flu---these illnesses are often accompanied by bacterial infections, and it is very often the bacterial infections that cause some of the more unpleasant symptoms, such as:

• Sore throat
• Runny nose
• Sneezing
• Coughing

Additionally, many upper respiratory infections are mistaken for colds or flu when in fact they are bacterial infections.

Cold and flu symptoms, even when caused by a virus, are frequently exacerbated by bacterial infections, and these infections may significantly impede recovery from a cold or flu. Patients who buy Buccaline typically find that they get sick with cold or flu symptoms less often; if they do become ill, symptoms are typically less severe and recovery much faster.

Using Buccaline

Buccaline's immunization effects last around 3 months. It's generally advised to do a course of treatment twice a year---once shortly before cold & flu season starts, and again 3 months later.

The medication is administered by tablet over the course of three days. Tablets should be taken with a full glass of fluid, ideally on an empty stomach at least one hour before a meal.

For patients 7 years old and older:

• On the first day, take one tablet.
• On the second day, take two tablets.
• On the third day, take four tablets.

For patients under 7 years:

• On the first day, take one tablet.
• On the second day, take one tablet.
• On the third day, take two tablets.

There are no known interactions between Buccaline and other medications and no known side effects.

Buccaline should not be taken without doctor approval if there is already an infection present.

Patients who are taking steroids, have weakened immune systems, or have a chronic illness such as asthma or diabetes should speak with a doctor before taking Buccaline. Treatment is unlikely to harm unborn or nursing babies, but parents should check with a trusted doctor about potential complications before use.
